What Could I Get?

  • NEW Massachusetts Child and Family Tax Credit

    Get $440 for each eligible household member.

    Eligible household members are people who lived with and were supported by you in 2024, and were one of the following:

    Child who was under age 13 in 2024 who is your dependent. In some cases, this can be a child who is not related to you.

    Adult or child (of any age) who is disabled who is your dependent. In some cases, this can be a person who is not related to you.

    Adult who was 65 or older in 2024 who is your dependent. In some cases, this can be a person who is not related to you.

    Spouse who cannot care for themself because of a mental or physical condition.

    There is no limit to the number of dependents eligible for the Child and Family Tax Credit.

    You do not need a social security number (SSN) to get the credit! You can also receive get it this credit for covered household members if you have an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), as long as the covered household members have an SSN, ITIN, or NEW Massachusetts Alternative Taxpayer Identification Number (MATIN).     You must file a 2024 Massachusetts tax return to get the payments. You can do this even if you did not ewarn income in 2024 that requires you to file taxes.

  • Massachusetts Senior Circuit Breaker Credit

    If you are 65 or older and have high rent, mortgage, or certain other housing costs, you may be eligible for money from the Massachusetts Senior Circuit Breaker Credit

  • COVID Payments

    You can also get money you may have missed in 2021-2023 by now filing tax returns for those years! File by April 15, 2025 to get:

    2021 COVID stimulus payments: $1,400 for each eligible person

    2021 Child Tax Credit: up to $3,600 for each child

    The final deadline to get missed COVID payments is April 15, 2025.

  • Other Credits

    If you worked for pay in 2024:

    Federal Child Tax Credit: up to $2,000 for each child under age 17

    Federal Earned Income Tax Credit: up to $8,046

    Massachusetts Earned Income Tax Credit: up to $3,218
